Finally, Spending a Summer Day with Hiin

The creek by our house is quite low after the month of July...
... and very refreshing to swim in, when we get to the swimming holes.
We drove out to the south side of the Bay, and walked to Cedar Cove along the sometimes very muddy trail...
...loved the view and the cove...
...Loved the sunshine and our afternoon together!

Summer Gardens...

The vegetable patch seems to be a bit of a write-off, which is sad, because I was sure this was going to be the year! Those weeds have a nasty habit of taking over when I'm not looking! We might get some potatoes, though, at the end of the battle...
...and the flower garden has also exploded with the warm weather... ... great colours, and BIG plants...
...vines gone wild...
...and maybe we'll beat the birds to a few cherries this year too!

We Can Do It!

Another Pulpit Rock Hike...
It's a good thing we didn't climb all the way up here just for the view! Smoke from forest fires flood the valley in the summer mornings wen the breeze is not yet here.
But, as always in Nelson, there is a reward for good behaviour...
...and rewards are really really sweet. Never mind about getting the car in gear today!

Beautiful British Columbia!

Finally, the lazy days of summer!!! When I left, Hiin & I were wearing parkas in the boat; then I heard that "It's 30 degrees over here! Every Day!!" Didn't make my visit any cooler, though!
The creeping dog kept trying to get on the towels...
Eraly morning hikes to Pulpit Rock...
The three of us at Pulpit!
What a view of Nelson!!
