Our tree is up, I am so pleased. This year, instead of going into the woods to cut our tree down, we chose to use one of the tops from one of the many trees that were toppled in the wind storm we just experienced a few days ago. It looks way more symmetrical in the photo, and not to everyone's taste, but each year we tend towards the more interestingly shaped trees, so this one fits right in.

I have to show the view from the inside to the outside of the greenhouse, because the slugs won the war. This Friday I will be installing Salmon Run at Sir William Grenfell Campus, in the Fine Art Gallery of the University. I just finished the pieces for my last osprey; this one will be 'flying' over the school of 99 salmon as they travel upstream on their river of glass. Yesterday was my first full afternoon in the garden... 6 BUSHELS of weeds later, and dirty dirty fingers, tiptoeing through the tulips was a pleasure!! Black beauties... I've been working on an order for the past while, and now have a pile of sockeye and king salmon ready for cold-working and their second firing. Still have a few coho and ocean/bright king salmon to go, as well as a nice big platter, but it's good to see progress! So far, am pleased with the colours and shapes of the the emerging fish.
