New Buddy

This is little Kala. We have had him here for three days now, and it is amazing the things he has learned in such a short time, and how much pleasure he brings to our home... I forgot how tiny puppies are (before he arrived, I bought a harness for him-- for an adult-sized dog)!

He likes to sleep on his pillow in the back, but he also likes to see what is going on. When he sits in the front, he hangs like an upside-down 'U' over that centre piece, facing the back (I raise it for him so he can do that). When he gets tired, he eventually just burrows into my side, or Shep's side, if Shep is along as navigator.

Having a thoughtful moment with Hiiner on his first morning at the Crow's Nest.

First river crossing...

...first swim-- his big webbed feet just push him along like nobody's business...

... by the second day, he was trying to follow Shep...

...keeping a good eye on the Big Guy...

... another thoughtful morning with Hiiner...

... and the perfect opportunity to catch a few nasturtiums...

... by the third day, he was chasing sticks like Shep, and bringing them along for the walk...

...two sort-of buddies... Sheppie will let him share the food bowls, but not the toys...

Two pooped black-and-whites at my feet. What a laugh!
