The New Kitchen in the New House

From previous posts, you'll know that I've been working on a little house for the past few months with my brother... it is SO close to being finished, and what a difference! These are more-or-less sequential images of the progress in the kitchen... what you don't see is the kitchen full of filth and layers of mouse and squirrel poop and grime... so be happy about that!
Pre- destruction, post-emptying of stuff...

... lots of great salvageable stuff...

... last pieces of old cabinets coming out...

..old door frame exposed, we decided to move the door and have the fridge, sink, and stove on one wall under the beautiful window with the beautiful view, rather in the corner, so some building was required... and you'll see the beginnings of the island in the kitchen, as well as the frame-work for the valence around the kitchen ceiling for the potlights we are installing...

...layers of paint and wall-coverings over the years..

...more interesting choices...

...evidence of on old window at one point, before the addition of the mudroom...

... new valence, first coat of primer...

...beginnings of the island...

...fresh paint, happy guy...

...new cabinets under the window, sink, tiles...

...stove and fume hood in place...

... beautiful floors, clean fresh colours, large open airy space... what a nice kitchen!

Thanks! Hoping to list the house very soon... we have a large patio to build yet, and a few minor touch-ups, and if I can somehow swing it (becuase this is my favorite part), some landscaping...
