KAYAK SLEDDING!!!

All geared up and ready to go!! We heard the good news, my sister-in-law is doing well, what a relief (!!!), and Christmas finally started for us... so we decided to go celebrate by sliding down the hill in front of our house-- all the way to the snowy beach!
Hiin and the Bean waxing up the old SLED...

... and we're off, with the Bean attacking us and trying to herd us every step of the way-- many time risking life, limb, and teeth in the process, but he's NOT a quitter...

Hiin lost this flip for the struggle back up hill...
Can you spot the Bean...?! What a great night Over 'ome!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!

Enjoy the season, enjoy your LOVED ONES, and BEST WISHES for a wonderful NEW YEAR!

Building a Floor for the Holidays!

Carpenting, and Hiin and the Bean getting ready for another Big Day...

The Bean's scared of all the noises, and hides in the boots...

Part-way done one section, and there's the completed hallway! It will look so nice for when the families arrive for visits! Can't wait!!

Getting Ready for the Annual Christmas Bird Count!

Donning the extra-special-one-of-a-kind Bird Count Special Hat...
...Having climbed part-way up the hill behind our house, we paused for the trial run of this year's Christmas greeting card... which just may not happen... but fun none-the-less to try!
The ice on the bay is already forming... if it keeps up, we will have a great skating winter-- hopefully langer than last year's few days...
... Shep and I getting out for our very brief, but very fun, window of skating opportunity in 2006!

11.12.07

There's already ice coming into the bay... when the wind blows in this direction, it is COLD!!!
Humming birds and the WISE OLD OWL are among the many birds that grace our Christmas tree...

The brand new hardwood floor in the hallway, put down this past week in preparation for my brother's visit over the holidays!
Fancy a drink in the sun on the deck? Ha ha ha, me neither, view not-withstanding!

2.12.07

It's December Already!!

Shep licking his chops-- he knows which tree he wants!
Filling the bird feeders everyday-- it's tough to make a living out there for those birdies!
Hiin chopped down our Christmas Tree today!
There I am, trimming branches, and Shep ever-hopeful that he gets to chase one!
It sure is nice, being able to get our little tree from our yard... cute little house on the hill in the background.

GOING TO ICELAND!!

I'm leaving for Iceland with my Blue-fish Bowl, Ptarmigans in the Snow, and the Viking Ship. Hope the weather holds! Looking forward to the Aurora borealis and clear skies to view it, the world famous Blue Lagoon hot springs (oh yes, soaking in the outdoor tubs!), and with a luck, people who like my glass art!

Winter is going to STAY!

The snows are looking more permanent on the Blowmedowns, the Bean has taken ownership of the spot in front of the woodstove, and Hiin has the little shed stogged with chopped wood! We're getting ready for the big Freeze-up of the winter months... clear skies, frozen cars!

16.11.07

Winter's Coming to the Rock!

The last of the red leaves just got covered this past week with our first snowfall... jays are taking over the bird feeders, chickadees sneak into the front yard feeders...
Fishermen going out to sea, regardless of the weather...
The beautiful Blowmedowns blanketed in snow. Gotta' love my view!

The West Coast Craft Fair was a great event again this year, and a pleasure to attend. I am still unpacking and sorting, cleaning up after the whole bonanza, and getting ready for the next foray into craft sales! This time, I will be off to Iceland-- still two weeks away, and have a little bit of time to prepare a few more items that might work for the Icelandic crowds! Should be fun!!
